OT Kidz is owned and operated by Julie Parsons, OTR/L, who is Sensory Integration Certified. Julie and her staff offer individual assessments, individual treatments and co-treatments with speech therapy at day and evening appointments. Julie specializes in a multitude of disorders, including developmental delays/disorders, fine motor delays, autism spectrum disorders and sensory integration disorders. An active member of the American Music Therapy Association, Melissa provides assessments, individual and group classes and adaptive music lessons. She is skilled in piano, guitar, chorus, voice and piano pedagogy. Melissa has a strong background in the assessment and treatment of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and children with other developmental and cognitive delays.
Melissa received her degree from Elizabethtown College in 2006. Elizabethtown College is well-known for their sound and well-rounded music therapy program. She completed her internship at Kennedy Krieger School, which is part of an institute known throughout the world for their work with individuals who have disabilities. Melissa obtained her credentials, MT-BC (Music Therapist - Board Certified) from the Certification Board for Music Therapists, which upholds standards that are equal to or above licensure standards.
